Article: Slower is Better

Those of you who watch TV have probably seen one of those Dr. Pepper commercials where a celebrity with a Dr. nickname extols the virtue of drinking Dr.Pepper slowly to fully appreciate all of its flavors. Then ends with “Trust Me, I Am A Doctor”

Well, putting is a lot like tasting Dr. Pepper, slower is better. Your pre-putt routine, your attention to the contour of the green, the grain if present and your actual putting stroke all benefit from taking them more slowly. But, not to the point of being guilty of slow play.

When it comes to the actual puting stroke, most golfers rush their stroke like it is a visit to the dentist and all they can think of is getting it over with quickly.

In order to successfully slow your putting stroke down you need to first have a positive frame of mind. Noted sports psychologist, Dr. Bob Rotella, in his book “Putting Out of Your Mind” points out that “If you think you will make the putt you probably will and if you think you won’t you probably will not.” Having a positive, success focused thought will help reduce tension and make it easier to slow down your putting stroke.

Once you slow your puttng stroke down you will notice that it becomes smoother and more consistent. Your putting will improve and you to will agree that “Slower is Better”.

Trust Me, But I Am Not a Doctor

Special Success Story – Stopping Golfer Aches and Pains

Do you struggle with your golf game because of a sore/stiff neck, sore/stiff wrists and shoulders, sore/stiff knees or a sore/stiff back?

Is reduced flexibility causing you to lose distance?

Do you feel stressed and anxious when facing a challenging situation on or off the golf course?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions I sincerely believe I can help you.

I would like to share an amazing experience I recently had that has saved my golf game.

At this writing I have just turned 70 and until the past six weeks had spent the previous 10 months physically unable to play and enjoy golf for the first time in over 50 years.

About eleven months ago, I had injured my left shoulder/rotator cuff area by trying to dig a shot out of thick rough without having warmed up sufficiently.

For a few months I experienced a dramatic loss of strength in my left shoulder and could not even swing a golf club. Then after about six months of inactivity, my arthritic wrists, back and knees had tightened so much that trying to make a full back swing was quite painful. And, with all of the tightness my club head speed was off dramatically. My left shoulder hurt so much I had great difficulty sleeping on my left side. I was really concerned that my golf playing days were over.

Then, six weeks ago I was introduced to an amazing new all natural non prescription wellness drink that has gotten me back on the golf course pain free.

This new class of wellness drinks is highly effective in combating inflammation in the blood vessels, muscles, and joints at the cellular level.

This amazing new wellness drink product is made from a Sonoran Desert Cactus and is called Nopalea. Produced by TriVita Corporation, it is a great tasting berry flavored liquid that is specifically designed to combat inflammation through out the body. It can help joints, muscles, blood vessels and organs. I believe this new product, Nopela, can help almost any golfer feel better and play better.

REESO Success Stories
“Sandy, I am very pleased with my new VTX putter. I really like the convenience and solid feel of the adjustable travel shaft.
The heel and toe wings on the outside of the putter head make it easier to line up. I played my first two competitive rounds in a Pro Am event with it and shot 68-66. I tied for first place in a very tough field and had the low Pro round with eight birdies the last day. I am really looking forward to the tour starting up again in January and will keep you posted.”

Article: Why Off-the-Rack Putters Can Limit Your Putting Success
Off-the-Rack putters are mass produced and therefore can not offer many choices. This lack of choices prevents most golfers from ever reaching their true putting potential because it forces them to “fit their putter”. It is highly desirable for the golfer’s putter to “fit them”.Most off the rack putters today have limited length choices of 33-35 inches, are set to a 17 or 18 degree lie angle, and have 3 to 5 degrees of loft. They force the golfer to fit them.

The average golfer can not reach their putting potential with such limited choice Off-the Rack putters.

Putter length is crucial in allowing the golfer to use a posture that is most comfortable for them. A comfortable posture is key for having the eyes properly positioned relative to the golf ball and target line. It is also key for staying relaxed while putting and to avoid back problems from extended putting practice sessions.

Tall golfers who should be using a 36-38 inch putter have to bend over considerably to use an off-the-rack putter. The resulting incorrect posture, back strain and increased tension limit their putting success.

Nearly all Conventional style putter grips today have a flat portion to assist the golfer in achieving the proper hand position relative to having the putter face aligned correctly. The most successful putters today like Tiger Woods, Loren Roberts, Brad Faxon and Zach Johnson putt with their arms fully extended. With today’s extended arm putting strokes, most non-tall golfers have to choke down on off-the-rack putters to achieve a correct and comfortable posture. This means their hands are too low on the grip and therefore don’t rest properly on the flat portion of the grip. This results in grip/alignment inconsistencies. This is especially true for most women and junior golfers because nearly all off-the-rack putters are several inches too long for them.

Putter lie angle will determine whether the golfer soles the putter on the ground correctly at address. If the heel or toe is off the ground, visual alignment can be thrown off and the presence of loft on the putter face will cause significant directional errors. This can be especially significant with long, face-on and side saddle putters. Directional errors of nearly 1.5 inches on a ten foot putt have been demonstrated for putters with 5 degrees of loft when not properly soled.

Also, if golfers have to fit themselves to their putter’s lie angle it can force them to hold their hands and arms too high or too low. Maintaining such a “forced” position is very difficult during the actual stroke and will surely cause stroke inconsistencies. And, finally such a “forced” position will make it impossible for the golfer to relax their arms and hands during the stroke thus creating undesired tension.

A golfer can only achieve their true putting potential when their putter actually fits them. Custom putters are available that let the golfer select the length they want and then allow them to adjust the lie angle for a perfect set up.

A well fitted custom putter will encourage a smoother more consistent putting stroke, better alignment and ultimately increase the golfer’s confidence.

REESO Success Story
Sandy,
“You were kind enough to extend to me the instructor’s discount, and I ordered your conventional style REESO putter. If you recall, I was using the Heavy Putter prior to purchasing yours. Admittedly, the discount as well as the money back guarantee convinced me to try your putter. Boy am I glad I did. Your putter is Amazing!. I am making a lot of putts that I didn’t before, and my misses are much better. Keep in mind, this is from someone who has averaged less than 28 putts per round for the last 15 years. So saying that I am making more putts is a BIG DEAL. I don’t think you will be getting this putter back, so don’t count on it (grin).”
